• Unwanted Pregnancy

• Divorced families

• Pre-birth exposure to trauma, drugs or alcohol

• Neglect (not answering the baby's cries for help)

• Abuse (physical, emotional, sexual)

• Separation from primary caregiver (illness or death of mother or severe illness or hospitalization of the baby, or adoption)

• Caring for baby on timed schedule or other self-centered parenting

• Several moves or placements (foster care, failed adoptions, divorces)

• Moms with chronic depression

• Changing day cares or using providers who don't do bonding

• On-going pain such as colic, hernia or many ear infections
